Love The Water

I’m starting this blog to engage with all of our fans and fellow anglers. something fun to read once a week or so to help take a break from day-to-day life. I’ve always wanted to reach out to others to share my passion for the open ocean in other ways than being on the boat, maybe I can do it here. don’t be surprised to see multiple grammar errors. Remember I’m a fisherman, not an author (although sometimes I like to try and think I am.)

Now that I’ve introduced myself a little more, let’s move on to the topic. What does it mean to you to “Love the Water”? is it going to the beach and hearing the crash of the waves breaking onto the sand? is it taking the boat out with some good friends, riding round in the summer sun listening to great tunes and sharing stories. Or maybe it’s the serenity of absolute silence. fishing your favorite spot with no one around and watching the sun peak over the horizon as it starts to rise.

For me it’s all of that and so much more. The water is beautifully mysterious. Supporting all types of life, we have the blessing of seeing and holding secrets we may never uncover. I’m not sure what it is but every time I drop the boat in the water or walk on the edge of the beach, I’m suddenly surrounded by a sense of calm. it could be the worst day ever but if I get to see that current moving and even a couple of fish breaking up to the surface, all of those problems suddenly disappear. funny how that works isn’t it?

We need to keep that love for the water. whether it’s teaching our youth how to fish and creating a lifetime of memories or volunteering to pick up trash and debris from time to time. the more we take care of her, then she will take care of us.

Capt Brad.
